Applications
for Planning and Listed Building Consent for an additional
floor over the existing two-storey side extension were
granted in early 2003.
The extension comprises a room
area of 350 sq ft, plus an en-suite bathroom. The extension
was constructed in loadbearing brickwork, with a parapet
re-using the coping stones from the original extension.
The foundations of the original extension were reinforced
by underpinning throughout. To ensure a close match with
the existing bricks, the new facing brickwork was colour-toned
using a procedure developed by Jordans Building Materials
Consultants.
The existing bathroom on the first floor, together with the dressing room to
the master bedroom, were remodelled to provide three bathrooms, two en-suite
to the master bedroom and the new extension, and the third accessed from the
stair landing. |
